Sheep Poison Mushroom Design Concept

Part of the Midnight Tea Break collection, this Gothic Lolita piece draws inspiration from the traditional "Sheep Prince" motif and the Chinese "Nine Suns Rising" auspicious symbol.

The design tells the story of lambs straying into the forest and accidentally ingesting poisonous fly agaric mushrooms, falling into a surreal fairy-tale illusion. The iconic red-and-white spotted mushrooms bloom across the garment, embodying the theme that beauty often comes with danger.

The skirt features panel construction on deep red velvet fabric, with jacquard woven patterns mimicking the texture of oil paintings. Three unique prints of sheep and mushrooms adorn the skirt, with pleats designed to resemble gills, and diamond grid patterns referencing vintage mushroom field guides.

The top features a mandarin collar and pipa sleeves with tuck pleats echoing mushroom gills. Details include blood drop necklace embroidery at the neckline, large sleeve embroidery of lambs falling into the mushroom trap, and plush appliqué sheep motifs for a soft-yet-dark contrast.
